romanzo - a novel way of writing

Background
When competing in my fourth NaNoWriMo, I happened across Papel, a wonderful windows freeware program created by Michael O'Donnell to facilitate the writing of novels. The project was unfortunately abandoned and his site taken down; and since there is no source code, it cannot be improved.
This is the motivation behind the creation of romanzo: to come up with an open source, more extensible and multi-platform novel writing tool.
